Other Paintings
I’ve done a lot of painting in many circumstances, places and styles over 60 years. These examples represent 1000 or so other pieces in reverse chronological order, from current improvisations following a period of realistic landscapes. We moved back to Maine in 2002 from Charlotte, NC, where I conducted area workshops, taught at the Tryon Center, and exhibited widely. I started exhibiting in earnest before that in Philadelphia where I attended night classes for 14 years at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. I worked nearby as an IRS regional manager of public affairs. I retired in 1995 and had a successful solo exhibit there in 1998 called “Inside the IRS.” Before Philly I lived, worked and raised a family outside Baltimore, MD.
